Types of Logo Design

On the basis of the presentation, how would you differentiate between the logos of the following:

  • Facebook
  • Google
  • Puma
  • Ferrari
  • Slack
  • Amazon

A logo can be presented in many ways. It depends on you how you want people to remember it. If the name is all you want the impression to be, you go in the lines of Google, Samsung, eBay, and Coca-Cola – brands who make their brand name itself the symbol.

Facebook is an example of remembering a brand by its initial. Other examples for that would be Flipkart, Mc Donald’s, WordPress, and Louis Viton, who use one or two initials of the brand name as their symbol.

Pictorial presentations are the easiest way to make people remember your brand. This can be done in 3 ways:

  • Using images that are easy to identify and remember, like Apple, Puma, Nike, Twitter, Playboy and Android.
  • Brands like Ferrari, Starbucks, Harley Davidson, BMW, Mercedes, and WB have emblems, representing more royalty.
  • Innovation and boldness are represented by abstract logo designs. Slack, Mastercard, Pepsi, Airbnb and Chase are examples in this category.

Now, if you don’t want to go by these rules, you can simply mix them up. Amazon is a combination of text and symbol (arrow). Similar examples are Walmart, Toblerone, Taco Bell, Dove, and PayPal.

So, how would you visualize your brand to be?
